Lush! Lives is the first feature length production from BlueSky Film & Documentary and was first screened in April 2024 in The Barn at Kelly’s.
To mark one year since the launch of the film, BlueSky Film & Documentary has made it available to view on YouTube.
If you are a fan of electronic music then the film is worth a watch, featuring contributions from DJs like Carl Cox, Dave Seaman, Seb Fontaine, John Cecchini, Judge Jules and Dave Dresden.
The film also features interviews with the clubbers who made the weekly pilgrimage to Lush! at Kelly’s as well as talking to the bar staff and security.
The idea for the film came from the announcement of the closure of Lush! in March 2020 as a result of the Covid pandemic.
The founder of BlueSky Video Marketing and BlueSky Film & Documentary, Peter Craven was a regular visitor to Lush! since the 1990s having studied at Ulster University in Coleraine and eventually meeting his wife on the Lush! dancefloor on Valentine’s Night 1998 in the company of Lisa Loud.
We started our with an idea to create a short tribute to Lush! when it was announced that it would not re-open. But the level of interest from a lot of online groups populated by the old Lush! crowd meant that the idea quickly grew and ended up with the development of this film.
